Cathy's birthday pillow

This is a pillow I made for my friend, Cathy. It was fun to make, although I finally called the Babe up to help me figure the measurements on the ends. He gets plenty of credit..for geometry and calming me down!I took the fabric and placed the pillow on it and rolled the fabric around and pinched about an extra 3/4 inch for the seam. That makes the tube. One circle is just that, a circle plus the 1/2 inch for seaming. The other side is slit. So when you are cutting this out you need to make more of an oval- think of a round table with a leaf in it. Fold a 1/2 inch seam over twice on each side and sew. Make sure one side is bigger than the other. Attach to tube. Insert pillow. The flowers came from a site I can't find now, but it's a basic flower. You take 2 4-inch squares, 2 3-inch and 2 2-inch. Fold them each twice to have 4 layers. Cut to curve around the corner and clip to within 1/4 inch of center. Place a button in the middle and sew. Make sure you alternate the placement of each piece so there is depth and layers.
Happy Birthday, Cathy!
